New record for Nora

The Nordtank 500kW generated 128.83MWh for February, it’s highest output yet since operating, and beating the previous best in May 2011 (127MWh). The capacity factor for the month was an astonishing 37%, and on the 23rd February the turbine hit a 98% capacity factor for almost the entire day, meaning the wind speed was 12m/s plus over that time.

These figures are unprecedented and exciting, although the likelihood that the strong winds that have pushed the Nordtank so well are a symptom of climate change tempers the jubilation¬† …
